Inspired by this post from a fellow vox-er (sent to me by Cammie), I made this shopping tote out of old plastic grocery bags. I ironed several layers of plastic bag and fused them into this amazing, sturdy, re-usable plastic material, and then sewed it up! This is the first sewing project I've done on my own, so the stitching and measuring are completely imprecise, but the plastic is very forgiving. I can't wait to make more!

I've also been gardening and riding my new bike, which I've recently acquired courtesy of my rad, bike-loving neighbor Erin. Hooray for summer! In the garden, I have lots of kale, mint, lemon balm, chives, and sage, and I'll soon have tomatoes, peppers, butternut squash, and leeks. I didn't get any basil into the ground early enough this year, which is disappointing, but our farmer's market is keeping me in the basil, thank goodness.
